Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Platform, DevOps, or SysOps.
- Deep expertise in GCP, self-managed Kubernetes, and bare-metal infrastructure such as Hetzner.
- Proven experience conducting rigorous architecture and code reviews.
- Experience mentoring mid-to-senior-level engineers.
- Experience leading successful SOC2 and GDPR audits.
- Experience implementing CSPM solutions.
- Ability to treat internal tools such as sandbox and observability systems as products with long-term roadmaps and internal users.
- Ability to explain infrastructure risks and technical debt in business terms to C-suite stakeholders.
- Preferred: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
- Preferred: Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
- Preferred: Google Professional Cloud Architect or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
- Preferred: CyberSecurity Professional certification.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural designs, infrastructure changes, and code produced by the Platform Engineering team.
- Mentor Platform Engineers and guide complex migrations and builds.
- Define and enforce organization-wide engineering standards.
- Own the GCP Sandbox solution, including ephemeral environment automation, self-destruct logic, cost controls, and user experience.
- Maintain and evolve the monitoring, alerting, and logging framework for engineering and business stakeholders.
- Represent engineering health, budgets, and technology roadmaps in strategic discussions with executives.
- Research and embed AI and agentic solutions into internal engineering services, and partner with the CTO on organization-wide AI policy.
- Drive GCP FinOps initiatives, manage project budgets, optimize CUDs, and align infrastructure requirements with financial guardrails.
- Lead CSPM and vulnerability management workflows and enforce security standards across GCP, MongoDB, Redis, and other critical data stores.
- Lead efforts to achieve and maintain SOC2 Type 2 and GDPR compliance.
