Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience as a full-stack web developer.
- Demonstrate ownership of complex production systems.
- Have strong full-stack development capabilities using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Have experience with SPA frontend technologies such as React or MeteorJS.
- Have experience with MongoDB and microservice architectures.
- Have experience working with Kubernetes and AWS-based environments.
- Understand transactional integrity, idempotency, failure-mode design, and reliability in financial systems.
- Have experience making architectural decisions for large, complex, or high-stakes engineering projects.
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of technical projects and production systems.
- Have experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across engineering teams.
- Money-movement systems experience in banking, fintech, payment processing, or another regulated environment is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with payment rails, banking APIs, and standards such as NACHA, OFAC screening, PCI, or SOC 2 is a strong plus.
- Bring product judgment, attention to detail, and a focus on reliable systems for sensitive financial transactions.
- Communicate and collaborate across engineering, product, compliance, security, and customer-facing functions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and scale systems for ACH and wire transfer origination, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Develop and strengthen payment-processing pipelines integrating with banking partners, payment rails, and third-party financial APIs.
- Implement controls for wire fraud prevention, transaction verification, and anomaly detection with security and compliance teams.
- Extend and maintain frontend and backend applications for escrow accounting and closing-day money movement.
- Make architectural decisions covering data integrity, idempotency, retry strategies, failure handling, and audit logging.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Accounting, and other stakeholders on regulatory, operational, and audit requirements.
- Support compliance with NACHA rules, wire fraud regulations, and SOC 2 controls.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production issues affecting financial transactions.
- Collaborate with product, design, compliance, and customer-facing teams to deliver payment experiences.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering practices across teams.
