Have 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
Hold a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study.
Have experience with server-side languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
Have experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server.
Be able to complete complex projects involving partners across multiple teams.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus: Experience building scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Bonus: Experience working with file system vendors.

Architect, implement, and maintain backend services for file storage, permissions synchronization, and third-party integrations.
Design and build event-driven systems for real-time permission propagation across Addepar's financial graph and external storage providers.
Meet compliance revocation SLAs while building file platform systems.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, security, and compliance partners on sensitive data access controls.
Contribute to migrations, including FileVault to Box, webhook consolidation, and folder structure evolution, with zero-downtime production rollouts.
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices and principles.
Explore and build AI-powered file processing, automated metadata extraction, and content-aware workflows.
Evaluate third-party file platform capabilities to expand file management offerings.
