Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design of electrical substations.
- PE license highly preferred.
- Experience managing physical design projects including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Experience in creating and reviewing substation design drawings.
- Proficiency with current software applications used for substation design.
- Ability to effectively organize multiple physical design assignments and competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional work teams.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to successfully work with remotely located team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and designers in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of electrical substations.
- Manage the execution of physical design projects including resource planning, risk management, and project delivery.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and manage career development for direct reports.
- Prepare or oversee cost estimates and schedules for physical design projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and expert troubleshooting support.
- Act as primary point of contact for clients and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Perform quality reviews of design work and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
