Requirements
- Master’s degree in the social sciences, education, policy, or related fields.
- 2 years ELA/literacy teaching experience (K–12) in the US public education system.
- Experience with multiple research or technical assistance methods (e.g., surveys, experimental research, case studies, or professional learning design).
- Experience writing well-structured, clear, and concise research summaries, reports, or briefs.
- Ability to discuss research tasks or technical assistance activities with field partners and participants.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel 5-6 times per year for school site visits (3-4 days per visit).
- Submission of a cover letter detailing training and experience in ELA/literacy.
Responsibilities
- Work on an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and/or provide technical assistance for large-scale improvement efforts.
- Lend ELA/literacy expertise to projects, including literacy assessment, instructional practice measurement, and review of ELA curricular materials.
- Conduct literature, website, document, and policy scans and reviews.
- Support data collection and analysis such as survey administration, classroom observations, and interviews.
- Provide project management and coordination support, including tracking milestones and managing project databases.
- Prepare district research applications and Institutional Review Board (IRB) packages.
- Contribute to meeting facilitation and summarize research themes for various audiences.
- Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations of research findings.
