- Deep understanding of the AI safety ecosystem and the types of work that move the field forward.
- Exceptional ability to assess candidate potential and suitability for high-impact roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with candidates and hiring organizations.
- High agency and ability to make decisions quickly under uncertainty.
- Experience designing and iterating on processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work effectively in a mission-driven, high-trust team environment.
- Willingness to travel 3–6 times per year for conferences and events.
- Ability to collaborate across a globally distributed team spanning multiple time zones.
- Prior experience with recruiting, headhunting, or talent operations is valued but not required.
- Existing professional relationships within the AI safety ecosystem are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Identify promising candidates by gathering signals from program participants and mentors.
- Maintain accurate records of individual career histories and progress.
- Provide career advice and facilitate introductions to funders, organizations, or AI safety hubs.
- Manage referrals for open roles and fellowships across the AI safety ecosystem.
- Track referral outcomes to refine and improve matching processes.
- Contribute to active programs such as SPAR, Pathfinder, and Generator.
- Build and maintain relationships across the AI safety community.
