Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related concentration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience, ideally handling US government contracts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to reconcile balance sheets and profit/loss reports.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Professional communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Experience interacting with executive management and third-party funding sources.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to meet month-end deadlines and work independently in a virtual team.
Responsibilities
- Establish procedures and policies to facilitate effective and efficient financial reporting and ensure compliance with Federal WIOA, local, State, and corporate policies.
- Ensure that the project fulfills all financial obligations in a timely and economic manner in accordance with established policies and budgets within WIOA guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and working capital requirements.
- Monitor government contracts and private restricted funding to ensure full financial utilization.
- Process employee expenses, vendor project invoices and program payroll analytics.
- Perform month-end closing activities including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Compile all supporting documentation for monthly contract invoices.
- Support annual audit deliverables and manage periodic program audit requests.
- Oversee and complete software client invoice process ensuring customer orders are invoiced and fulfilled within a timely manner.
