Requirements
- 4+ years of database administration experience.
- Hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
- Experience with SQL Server Clustering.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and automation.
- Experience with backup and restore processes.
- Knowledge of database patching and performance tuning.
- Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience with database security, monitoring, and alerting.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and database servers.
- Support standalone SQL Server and SQL Cluster environments.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server environments.
- Monitor database availability, capacity, performance, and health using tools like Idera and SolarWinds.
- Perform SQL performance tuning and index/query optimization.
- Execute and validate database backups and restores.
- Implement and test High Availability and Disaster Recovery processes.
- Develop SQL scripts and automation for routine administration activities.
- Respond to incidents and service requests through ServiceNow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain technical documentation.
