Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines.
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Clustering.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting.
- Experience with database provisioning, configuration, backup, and restoration.
- Proven expertise in performance tuning, server patching, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to independently resolve complex database and server issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Administer and maintain SQL Server Cluster environments and standalone SQL databases.
- Perform SQL Server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot database High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Perform advanced SQL Server performance tuning and optimization.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts and database administration automation.
- Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and performance using tools like Idera and SolarWinds.
- Manage database support requests, incidents, and change requests through ServiceNow.
- Support database security, auditing, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours patching, server reboots, and support activities.
