Requirements
- BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- 10+ years of industry-relevant experience in engineering of consumer products.
- Ability to travel to client locations (anticipate 25-35% annually).
- Experience with integration systems and systems engineering in consumer towel and tissue products preferred.
- Experience developing system concepts and executing final system designs.
- Knowledge of Web Handling (unwind, rewind, cutting, printing) for towel and tissue preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design software.
- Familiarity with simulation software such as FlexSim or Plant Simulation preferred.
- Experience with Autodesk Navisworks and ReCap preferred.
- Understanding of balanced line flow for converting and packaging systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the mechanical design effort on converting and packaging line projects.
- Execute capital projects within scopes, costs, and schedules.
- Develop concepts, deliverables, effort hours, and estimated cost for engineering proposals.
- Prepare systems analysis and conceptual designs, layouts, specify equipment, and prepare detailed design packages for bid and installation.
- Delegate design work and hold team members accountable.
- Perform QAQC of design packages.
- Interface with clients and vendors on regular basis.
- Work in a manufacturing environment gathering field data and conducting field investigations.
- Solicit and review equipment bids.
- Lead design reviews and provide startup support and troubleshooting.
- Coach and mentor other engineers and designers.
