Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in digital accessibility, Section 508 compliance, or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.2, ARIA, and accessible user experience principles.
- Experience evaluating complex web applications or enterprise systems.
- Experience conducting manual accessibility testing with assistive technologies and automated tools.
- Proficiency with tools such as Axe DevTools, ANDI, JAWS, and NVDA.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary product teams in Agile environments.
- Proficiency reviewing accessible designs, components, prototypes, and interaction flows in Figma.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end development practices.
- Experience creating or reviewing VPATs and evaluating document accessibility.
- DHS Trusted Tester certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Integrate accessibility into discovery, design, development, testing, and production activities.
- Conduct manual and automated accessibility evaluations using assistive technologies and testing tools.
- Review wireframes, prototypes, design systems, Figma files, and production interfaces for accessibility.
- Identify accessibility risks and provide clear, actionable remediation recommendations.
- Translate Section 508, WCAG, and ARIA requirements into practical guidance.
- Support the development of VPATs, accessibility reports, and compliance documentation.
- Contribute to accessibility playbooks, templates, standards, reusable components, and best practices.
