Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising.
- Demonstrated success in individual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.
- Proven ability to plan and execute major fundraising events.
- Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Must reside in the local community the Chapter serves (minimum of three years residency preferred).
- Ability to travel locally up to 40% of the time.
- Ability to travel out of town overnight several times per year for staff offsites and company events.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of the military family experience preferred.
- Familiarity with membership-driven organizations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Director with the local fundraising strategy to meet or exceed chapter revenue goals.
- Manage a portfolio of at least 30 new major gift prospects through the full donor lifecycle.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Collaborate with the national Development team on grant proposals, reporting, and funding opportunities.
- Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking in Salesforce.
- Represent Blue Star Families at community events and networking opportunities to elevate mission visibility.
