- 3 years of direct clinical experience in hospital, clinic, or other healthcare setting with a minimum of 2 years experience as a CLC.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree (preferred).
- Current Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) professional certification in good standing.
- Minimum 3 years of direct clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience specifically as a CLC.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, healthcare quality, and compliance standards.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EHR) data management and clinical documentation.
- Understanding of HIPAA and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong active listening and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable using remote productivity and communication tools.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual consultations with prenatal and postpartum patients via video platforms.
- Perform patient intake reviews and virtual physical evaluations.
- Deliver evidence-based education on lactation, infant feeding, and maternal mental health.
- Perform perinatal mental health assessments using standardized tools.
- Document patient history, observations, and care instructions in electronic medical records the same day as the appointment.
- Develop individual patient care plans including written resources and follow-up guidance.
- Manage clinical referrals and coordinate care with external medical professionals.
- Schedule follow-up appointments with patients.
