Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
- Current license to practice pharmacy in Alberta.
- Strong clinical knowledge and demonstrated clinical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality customer experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; experience with Access is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and presentation abilities.
- Experience with drug utilization and claims profile reviews is an asset.
- Knowledge or experience in pharmacoeconomic and pharmacoepidemiologic assessment is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and adapt clinical expertise to a non-traditional practice environment.
Responsibilities
- Apply pharmaceutical and disease-state knowledge to support the assessment and determination of drug eligibility through special authorization processes.
- Review drug products and provide clinical input to support drug listing and drug management recommendations.
- Contribute clinical expertise and analysis to Drug Review Committee activities.
- Conduct drug utilization and claims profile reviews to support informed clinical and coverage decisions.
- Apply strong attention to detail and clinical judgment while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer experience.
- Communicate clinical information and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders.
- Support processes and initiatives that promote effective medication management and positive outcomes for customers.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-energy team environment and participate in opportunities that require leadership and presentation skills.
