Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in prospect development, prospect management, advancement services, fundraising operations, donor intelligence, or prospect research.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with fundraisers to support portfolio strategy, prospect prioritization, or relationship management.
  • Expertise in prospect management practices, including portfolio reviews, pipeline management, and donor lifecycle tracking.
  • Proven ability to conduct prospect research and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with a CRM to manage donor or prospect information.
  • Strong understanding of data quality and the importance of accurate information for decision-making.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and competing priorities.
  • Curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Strong written, verbal, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable prospect research for assigned fundraising teams, including deep-dive profiles, meeting briefings, capacity ratings, and strategy recommendations.
  • Lead proactive prospect discovery projects that identify new individual, foundation, corporate, and institutional prospects aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain accurate, well-documented prospect and donor intelligence in Salesforce.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex information from research databases, public records, and internal history to inform cultivation strategies.
  • Lead regular portfolio reviews with fundraisers and development leaders to assess pipeline health, stage distribution, and progress.
  • Recommend and manage prospect assignments and reassignments based on capacity, affinity, and bandwidth.
  • Evaluate and improve prospecting and donor lifecycle processes for greater consistency and efficiency.
