Requirements
- Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant degree or equivalent working knowledge.
- Minimum three years of certified nursing assistant or medical assistant experience.
- One year of experience in a medical business office, physician’s office, or hospital environment.
- Experience in value-based care or population health.
- Experience in orthopedics or musculoskeletal specialty.
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality, state laws, and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inbound calls, fax referrals, emails, and departmental tasks.
- Assist Care Managers in performing assigned care coordination tasks.
- Monitor patient progress through ongoing assessment and evaluation to ensure desired outcomes.
- Identify and resolve barriers hindering effective patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, nurses, and physicians to resolve issues.
- Maintain clear, complete, and organized clinical documentation.
- Monitor clinically low-risk cases and advise the Medical Director of concerning issues.
- Accept referrals and identify patients meeting criteria for care management.
