Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in system administration, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or infrastructure operations.
- Deep expertise in Linux administration, performance tuning, and ZFS storage management.
- Proven experience running, tuning, and debugging Java/Tomcat applications in production.
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL 5.7, including query tuning and replication.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and writing Bash automation.
- Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Cloud SQL and BigQuery.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with Terraform and modern CI/CD deployment workflows.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration during migrations and outages.
- Methodical approach to live-site incident response.
Responsibilities
- Own the incident management lifecycle, including alerting, troubleshooting OS bottlenecks, and conducting root-cause analysis.
- Monitor system performance and application logs using observability platforms like Observe by Snowflake.
- Proactively maintain, patch, and secure existing GCP virtual machines.
- Monitor MySQL 5.7 instances, manage backups, and resolve database connection or locking issues.
- Collaborate on designing and scaling cloud-native infrastructure using Cloud SQL and BigQuery.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code to reduce manual tasks.
- Maintain system security through OS hardening, access controls, and vulnerability patching.
