Requirements
- A few years of Canadian payroll experience.
- Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in corporate accounting, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred).
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or actively working toward it.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Administer semi-monthly payroll for Canada and the U.S., as well as monthly payroll for international locations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries.
- Maintain and update payroll, incentive, and equity system records.
- Conduct routine payroll and benefits reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform daily payroll accounting tasks, including posting general ledger entries, calculating stock compensation expenses, and managing fixed asset amortization.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for month-end close.
- Assist with payroll year-end processes, including tax form preparation, reconciliation, and balancing.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll and accounting workflows.
