Requirements
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience, including 3+ years in payments, e-money, cryptoassets, or comparable fintech.
- Hands-on experience drafting regulatory applications, compliance policies, or AML/CFT frameworks.
- Practical knowledge of at least one authorisation framework (e.g., UK EMI/PI, MiCA/CASP, or Jersey VASP).
- Strong understanding of regulatory differences between EMI/PI, CASP/VASP, and AML registration perimeters.
- Ability to interpret primary legislation and translate requirements into practical compliance measures.
- Working knowledge of AMLD/FATF standards, sanctions, outsourcing, and governance.
- Understanding of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, blockchain analytics, and case-management controls.
- Experience with compliance tools such as Sumsub, ComplyAdvantage, Scorechain, or Fireblocks.
- Understanding of investigations, escalation processes, and SAR/STR reporting.
- Fluent professional English with excellent regulatory drafting skills.
- Ability to work independently within European business hours and travel occasionally to an EU office.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to regulatory licence applications, business plans, and AML/CFT frameworks.
- Build regulatory requirement matrices, application document maps, and evidence trackers.
- Prepare and coordinate responses to regulatory RFIs and requests.
- Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Verify the implementation and operational effectiveness of documented controls.
- Provide compliance advice on new products, business partnerships, and model changes.
- Conduct gap analyses, thematic reviews, and risk assessments.
- Support regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and supervisory engagements.
