Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of directing a social media team to successful outcomes.
- Experience building a social media program from top-to-bottom, including strategy and infrastructure.
- Proven experience with qualitative and quantitative data-informed strategies.
- Significant management experience with the ability to coach and support teams.
- Deep expertise with major social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, and Substack.
- Robust knowledge of social media scheduling, monitoring, analytics, and reporting software.
- Strong equity analysis and practice in supervisory and organizational contexts.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and facilitate stakeholder collaboration.
- Experience in the environmental movement or social justice advocacy space is highly valued.
- Experience with influencer cultivation and partnership development.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creative development and delivery of Sierra Club’s social media identity, including voice, visual style, and platform strategies.
- Develop and execute reflexive content strategies that leverage current events, pop culture, and real-time trends.
- Manage and develop a team of strategists, creatives, and content developers.
- Set and achieve programmatic goals across marketing, fundraising, and campaign advocacy.
- Establish governance structures, content intake processes, and brand standards training for staff, chapters, and volunteers.
- Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into social content.
