Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, combined with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong experience with Python for building robust backend services, APIs, scalable platform automation, and command-line interfaces.
- Proven experience designing and developing resilient test automation frameworks for cloud infrastructure and complex distributed environments.
- Deep understanding of microservices architectures, cloud networking, and relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and observability tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Grafana.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify infrastructure bottlenecks and translate them into practical engineering improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, or provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Comfortable collaborating across distributed, multidisciplinary teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.
Responsibilities
- Enhance backend applications that manage reservations and allocation of physical hardware used by engineering teams for cloud product testing.
- Develop and maintain software services that automate the creation and management of testing environments supporting numerous services and engineering teams.
- Contribute to the development of scalable virtual machine-based environments that provide reliable and efficient development capabilities for engineers.
- Identify bottlenecks across development and deployment workflows, then design and implement solutions that improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers by recommending improvements to coding standards, software architecture, design patterns, and engineering practices.
- Build reporting and monitoring tools that provide visibility into capacity utilization across virtual machines and physical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering and SRE teams to deliver solutions that accelerate development cycles and increase confidence in product releases.
