Requirements
- Deep, demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Product-first orientation with comfort operating within existing technology rather than rebuilding.
- Proven ability to manage broad, multi-stakeholder problems, identifying root causes, aligning groups, and driving to solutions.
- Experience working in startup or scrappy environments.
- Proficiency leveraging AI in daily workflows, building and using agents by default.
- Ability to engage in robust technical discussions with Staff+ Engineers.
- Willingness to travel 4-6 times per year.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional leader for Cashalo, embedded in day-to-day partnership with the local GM.
- Lead an existing 11-12 person backend and mobile engineering team, continuing to drive the high performance already in place.
- Own ambiguous, multi-stakeholder business problems, such as running and reading concurrent, interdependent experiments, through to resolution.
- Bring proven engineering and product patterns from other markets into Cashalo, balancing these patterns with regional requirements.
- Travel to the Philippines roughly once a quarter.
