Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating production database and platform infrastructure.
- Significant background in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
- Staff-level experience leading complex technical initiatives and influencing architecture.
- Deep production experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Hands-on experience with replication, high availability, backups, and database migrations.
- Proficiency programming in Go.
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS and Google Cloud.
- Strong server-side Linux experience.
- Ability to design database systems for global scale and availability.
- Experience applying AI or automation to database operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the database platform strategy across the company.
- Inventory and assess existing database systems to prioritize resiliency and risk reduction.
- Design and implement scalable approaches for replication, backups, disaster recovery, and migrations.
- Develop production-grade tooling, governance models, and automated guardrails.
- Contribute production code to support database deployment and reliability.
- Partner with Dev Platform, SRE, and engineering teams to establish standards and best practices.
- Lead company-wide infrastructure initiatives and architectural design.
