Requirements
- 2+ years managing engineers, or experience as a tech lead ready to step into first-line management.
- 6+ years building data or software systems in production.
- Deep expertise in SQL, dimensional modeling, and event modeling.
- Comfort and proficiency in Python, including participation in code reviews and architecture discussions.
- Proven experience owning datasets that other teams depend on, including versioning, testing, and data contracts.
- Strong track record of translating ambiguous business requirements into durable models and metric definitions.
- Excellent collaboration and written communication skills to work with diverse partner teams.
- Commitment to building inclusive teams and a collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-modeled, durable datasets for requests, projects, pros, and customers.
- Partner with Finance to ensure revenue models are auditable, reconcilable, and resilient to upstream changes.
- Collaborate with Supply Acquisition and Business Platforms teams to define and execute their roadmaps.
- Increase reliability of core pipelines through dbt tests, CI, and anomaly detection.
- Hire, mentor, and grow mid-level and senior data engineers and team leads.
- Define engineering standards for code reviews, testing, and system architecture.
- Make and defend modeling and architecture decisions as a technical manager.
