Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience with oncology data abstraction/curation from health information systems
- Experience in both solid tumor and hematologic malignancy abstraction
- Experience navigating EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, OncoEMR, Iknowmed) for chart review
- Familiarity with oncological clinical trial eligibility criteria and protocol review
- Technical savvy with ability to learn new systems and technology
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Oncology/Hematology RN/LPN, or Clinical Research Associate (CRA), or NCRA Accredited Program certification preferred
- Familiarity with genomic testing in cancer preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA and FDA regulated clinical trials research requirements preferred
Responsibilities
- Retrieve, abstract and curate high quality oncology data sets from various EHR platforms into a proprietary NPM or 3rd party electronic data capture (EDC) system
- Conduct pre-screening chart reviews via EHR/EMR systems and clinical sources to assess patient eligibility against protocol criteria
- Maintain pre-screening logs and dashboards to document eligibility status
- Ensure compliance and confidentiality with NPM and Network Site policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Curate a comprehensive data set including patient history, diagnosis, treatment regimens, disease progression and genomic testing results
- Participate in the continual improvement of processes by providing feedback on workflows, user experience, and tools
- Interface with quality management and biostatistics to resolve data issues
