Requirements
- 3+ years of experience handling auto material damage claims.
- Current Hawaii adjuster license is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple claims, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
- Sound judgment and attention to detail when investigating, evaluating, reserving, and resolving claims.
- Ability to work independently while following departmental policies and risk management controls.
- College degree is preferred.
- Insurance designations or relevant insurance coursework are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Receive and review claims assignments, verify applicable coverage, and determine the appropriate handling approach.
- Determine the method and scope of investigation required for each claim in accordance with established claims best practices.
- Review and manage outstanding claim files to ensure timely and adequate investigation, evaluation, and reserving.
- Maintain accurate and timely claim diaries and documentation throughout the life of each file.
- Evaluate and adjust claims within assigned authority levels and escalate matters requiring additional supervision or approval.
- Manage auto material damage claims, determine appropriate handling strategies and disposition methods, and oversee total loss claims.
- Assess recovery opportunities and develop the information and documentation required to successfully pursue recoveries.
