Requirements

- Proven experience leading engineering teams, including coaching and performance development.
- Deep understanding of Linux distribution technologies and operating system architecture.
- Experience with package management systems, repositories, or software lifecycle technologies.
- Knowledge of release engineering processes and software maintenance cycles.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed organization.
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately twice per year for up to two weeks.
Responsibilities
- Define technical vision and roadmap for package management and system lifecycle technologies.
- Guide architectural and engineering decisions for software updates, upgrades, drivers, and firmware infrastructure.
- Promote standards for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
- Manage delivery across release cycles, balancing innovation with platform stability.
- Collaborate with internal functions such as security, product, and release engineering.
- Engage with upstream projects and the broader open source community.
