Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a client-facing position within public accounting.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as Xero and/or QBO.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass education and employment verification.
- Must be able to work from home with access to high-speed internet.
- Availability during core business hours.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Effective problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Ability to manage relationships with clients and internal team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Enter and maintain integrity of data in accounting software.
- Review and process client documentation such as invoices and bills.
- Prepare and share financial reports and budgets with clients.
- Identify and resolve process improvements with the Manager of Accounting Services.
- Build and manage accounting systems using company SOPs.
- Mentor and coach staff accountants on technical issues.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare GST/HST/PST sales tax returns.
- Perform financial statement reviews and prepare files for year-end.
