Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s degree or Credit Business Associate (CBA) Certification is desired.
- 2 years’ data entry experience in Credit/Collections or financial-related roles performing account reconciliations.
- 1-2 years’ experience utilizing D&B and other financial/risk management tools.
- 1-2 years’ experience approving credit terms and managing portfolios for compliance.
- Intermediate MS Office skills, specifically advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Food service or similar distribution experience is desired.
- Ability to work using multiple screens and web-based or mainframe systems.
- Strong problem-solving and risk management decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities under pressure while working independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Make credit decisions and establish payment terms within assigned authorities per Corporate Credit Policy Matrix.
- Collect on national/large complex delinquent accounts and maintain portfolio accuracy.
- Monitor and control customer account applications to ensure ownership linkage and correct aggregation.
- Analyze financial information to develop or modify credit limits for potential and existing customers.
- Resolve skipped invoices, short paid invoices, credit memos, and unapplied cash in a timely manner.
- Negotiate payment plans on past-due accounts and follow demand letter protocols.
- Prepare annual credit reviews and write-ups in accordance with Corporate Credit Policy.
- Assist with compliance regarding regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls.
