Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in statistics, economics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in R or Python (fluency in both preferred).
  • Professional experience applying data science methods to proof-of-concept and operational support projects.
  • Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning models (e.g., GLMs, time series, penalized regression, tree-based ensembles, neural networks, NLP).
  • Experience using Databricks with PySpark is a plus.
  • Familiarity with utility or energy sector data is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, is a plus.
  • Ability to simplify complex analyses for management and operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translate project scope into technical tasks using Jira.
  • Explore and validate data sufficiency for model performance.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain statistical and machine learning models.
  • Manage code repositories and perform code reviews.
  • Collaborate on the development and maintenance of data science pipelines.
  • Communicate insights and project progress to internal and external clients.
