Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in statistics, economics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in R or Python (fluency in both preferred).
- Professional experience applying data science methods to proof-of-concept and operational support projects.
- Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning models (e.g., GLMs, time series, penalized regression, tree-based ensembles, neural networks, NLP).
- Experience using Databricks with PySpark is a plus.
- Familiarity with utility or energy sector data is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, is a plus.
- Ability to simplify complex analyses for management and operations stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Translate project scope into technical tasks using Jira.
- Explore and validate data sufficiency for model performance.
- Develop, validate, and maintain statistical and machine learning models.
- Manage code repositories and perform code reviews.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of data science pipelines.
- Communicate insights and project progress to internal and external clients.
