Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Significant experience in risk management, project controls, or project delivery within complex EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, mission-critical, or major capital programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project and portfolio risk management, including identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and assurance.
  • Strong understanding of cost, schedule, contingency, and project controls principles and how they integrate with project risk management.
  • Advanced experience with quantitative risk analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, cost and schedule risk analysis, scenario analysis, and probabilistic techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracting, procurement, supply chain, change management, claims, and commercial risk.
  • Proven ability to influence and constructively challenge senior project and functional leaders in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to identify systemic and correlated risks across multiple projects.
  • Experience with project or enterprise risk management platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience delivering hyperscale, AI, mission-critical, or large-scale data centre programmes is desirable.
  • Relevant professional certification such as PMI-RMP, PMP, APM, AACE International, or IRM is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000 and PMBOK is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with tools such as @Risk, Riskonnect, or Safran is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the regional project risk management programme, establishing consistent governance, standards, methodologies, processes, and escalation requirements across the portfolio.
  • Integrate risk management across the full project lifecycle and key functions, including engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, commercial, commissioning, and operations readiness.
  • Provide independent risk oversight and constructive challenge to project and functional leaders, ensuring material risks and opportunities receive appropriate attention.
  • Own and oversee project risk registers, ensuring significant risks have defined owners, mitigation strategies, action plans, residual assessments, and escalation paths.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, including Monte Carlo simulation, schedule risk analysis, scenario analysis, and probabilistic techniques.
  • Develop risk-based recommendations for project contingency and management reserves, and support effective governance of contingency utilisation and release.
  • Produce clear executive reporting, dashboards, and analytics covering risk exposure, trends, mitigation effectiveness, concentrations, contingency, and delivery confidence.
  • Conduct risk reviews and health checks to assess the quality and effectiveness of risk identification, analysis, mitigation, reporting, and governance.
  • Act as a trusted regional subject matter expert, advising project, regional, and executive leadership on risk-related decisions and priorities.
