Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with deep Python expertise.
- Proficiency with FastAPI and AsyncIO.
- Genuine eagerness to learn and work within legacy Perl production code.
- Proven experience building and scaling microservices and high-throughput systems.
- Deep understanding of third-party API integration, including webhooks, idempotency, and retry policies.
- Strong experience with Docker containerization.
- Solid grasp of AWS infrastructure including Lambda and SQS/SNS.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
- Support and extend existing Perl-based gateway while designing high-performance Python microservices.
- Architect and implement scalable Python services to replace legacy system components.
- Integrate and manage complex third-party APIs with robust error handling and transaction flow management.
- Lead code reviews and drive engineering best practices, including identification of performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines and AWS-based architecture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a zero-downtime environment.
