Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python mastery (AsyncIO and FastAPI preferred).
- Experience with Perl or a genuine eagerness to learn and work within Perl production code.
- Solid experience integrating third-party APIs and understanding of webhooks, callbacks, and retry policies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and Docker containerization.
- Familiarity with AWS (Lambda, cloud services).
- Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, message queues, etc.).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to write clean, intentional code with clear engineering logic.
Responsibilities
- Support and extend the existing Perl-based payment gateway by debugging production issues and adding features.
- Design, develop, and maintain modern server-side components in Python.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external payment services into legacy and modern platform layers.
- Collaborate across departments within agile sprints using strong written and verbal English communication.
- Apply a product-focused mindset to understand business logic and user impact.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold code quality standards.
- Work with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments.
