Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in consulting, strategic communications, executive communications, or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience supporting complex federal government initiatives, preferably within the VA or VHA.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills for executive-level communications.
- Knowledge of AP Style, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and federal plain-language standards.
- Experience developing executive-level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record modernization, health IT, or enterprise transformation preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare operations and clinical workflows preferred.
- Experience with SharePoint content management and enterprise collaboration tools preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and organizational change management is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain federal healthcare policy documentation in accordance with VHA directive formats and federal writing standards.
- Translate complex workforce analysis, staffing models, and informatics modernization content for executive leadership and governance stakeholders.
- Produce policy, strategy, and workforce planning documents that support federal review and coordination activities.
- Perform comprehensive editing, proofreading, and quality assurance to ensure professional presentation and consistency.
- Manage document version control, review cycles, and artifact traceability across concurrent workstreams.
- Coordinate document revisions to maintain alignment with program requirements and governance decisions.
- Prepare and format workforce modernization materials according to VA Informatics Compass (VIC) content standards and accessibility guidelines.
- Maintain document repositories to meet federal records management and audit readiness requirements.
- Collaborate with clinicians, technical teams, and government clients to gather information and support program objectives.
