Requirements
- 2–4+ years of experience in a front-office financial role, such as investment banking, hedge funds, asset management, or a comparable investment-focused environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline from a highly regarded university.
- First-Class Honours degree or international equivalent.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities and advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and analysis of large datasets.
- Strong understanding of investment and portfolio concepts, including portfolio theory, risk attribution, yield, drawdown, correlation, volatility, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, investment strategies, portfolio construction, and institutional investment workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to portfolio managers, analysts, CIOs, risk managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Strong ability to turn detailed quantitative analysis into concise, actionable conclusions.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Familiarity with institutional investment processes, research platforms, and financial data tools.
- Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Python, R, or similar financial and data-analysis tools is a plus.
- CFA, FRM, or MBA qualification is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to develop robust portfolio intelligence tools and analytics capabilities.
- Analyze portfolio- and security-level performance, risk, and attribution across different investment strategies and market environments.
- Decompose investment returns to identify key drivers of alpha, beta, and idiosyncratic performance.
- Conduct market, macroeconomic, and security-level research to generate insights and support institutional client workflows.
- Analyze and interpret financial datasets to identify meaningful trends, risks, performance drivers, and investment insights.
- Validate financial metrics and analytics to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance for institutional users.
- Translate complex quantitative and financial analysis into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Work directly with institutional stakeholders, including portfolio managers, investment analysts, CIOs, and risk managers, to understand their analytical needs.
- Contribute financial and investment expertise to the development and continuous improvement of portfolio analytics products.
