Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering cloud-based data platforms or analytics environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, clusters, jobs, and SQL warehouses.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID integration, SCIM provisioning, and service principals.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, PowerShell, Databricks CLI, and REST APIs.
- Understanding of Azure networking, Key Vault, and security concepts like private endpoints and firewalls.
- Ability to maintain documentation and operational runbooks.
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments is preferred.
- Databricks Platform Administrator certification is a plus.
- Must be available for travel during the first 6 months and approximately 5% annually thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and administer Azure Databricks workspaces and clusters across development, staging, and production environments.
- Monitor cluster health, performance metrics, resource utilization, and platform availability.
- Optimize cluster, SQL warehouse, and workspace configurations for performance and cost efficiency.
- Manage workspace governance, including job scheduling, notebook organization, audit logging, and operational standards.
- Administer user access, workspace permissions, SQL warehouse configurations, and group-based security controls.
- Maintain security governance including RBAC, least-privilege access, and Unity Catalog permissions.
- Coordinate recurring access reviews and support audit/regulatory readiness.
