Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Active CPA license
- 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience in both tax and assurance services
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing staff, client engagements, and project workflows
- Demonstrated success managing complex engagements for various entity types
- Advanced knowledge of tax compliance, tax planning, and tax laws
- Extensive experience reviewing and overseeing complex tax returns
- Strong understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and governmental accounting standards (GASB/GAGAS)
- Proficiency with tax and audit software such as UltraTax, CCH Axcess, or ONESOURCE
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis on Excel
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Experience coaching and developing team performance
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary client contact across tax, audit, and assurance engagements
- Review complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and LLC filings
- Provide technical expertise in tax law, compliance, and planning strategies
- Utilize UltraTax (or similar) to review and manage tax engagements at a high level
- Lead assurance and accounting engagements, applying GAAP and governmental (GASB) standards
- Oversee client accounting functions and take ownership of ongoing books and financial reporting
- Review work prepared by senior and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Supervise and mentor team members, supporting development and performance
- Act as a front-line leader in managing and growing the firm’s book of business
- Partner with leadership to improve processes and support practice growth
