Requirements
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting designation in good standing.
- Minimum of three years of professional accounting experience post-CPA certification.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related discipline.
- Background in public accounting, specifically Big 4 or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience in power/energy trading, commodities, hedge funds, or financial markets.
- Preferred: Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets and settlement statements.
- Preferred: Experience with NetSuite implementation, configuration, or workflows.
- Preferred: Interest in automation and technology for accounting efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly and annual financial close processes for the company and its entities.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidations.
- Maintain general ledger integrity within NetSuite.
- Own the accounting, reconciliation, and maintenance of power-market settlement activity.
- Review and reconcile settlement statements from ISOs/RTOs, exchanges, and brokers.
- Coordinate federal and state tax return preparation and filing.
- Manage external financial statement audits and regulatory reporting.
- Assist with accounts payable, expense accounting, and trader book expense allocation.
