Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience at companies known for product quality.
- Experience in prosumer, creative tools, or small business SaaS environments.
- Proven track record of driving new product initiatives rather than just optimizing existing features.
- Strong analytical skills, including business strategy modeling, ROI estimation, and A/B test interpretation.
- Proficiency in Lean thinking and first-principles reasoning to solve problems in ambiguous spaces.
- Design fluency with the ability to direct designers and use visualization/prototyping.
- Clear, precise communication skills across written, verbal, and visual mediums.
- Builder mentality with experience shipping in resource-constrained environments.
- Deep understanding of product craft, including planning cadences and roadmap communication.
- Scaling or turnaround experience is considered a plus.
- MBA or management consulting experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution for a major area of SmugMug's product, operating across multi-quarter initiatives that span multiple teams.
- Stay close to our customers by collaborating with insights, marketing, CX, and UX to center user needs.
- Frame large, ambiguous problem spaces, define the problem, scope the value, build the business case, and ship solutions.
- Connect product and platform strategy to quarterly and sprint-level execution through storytelling and roadmap planning.
- Drive innovation by applying Lean and design thinking to find new approaches for visual storytellers.
- Build the ROI case for your area, defining outcomes and measurement approaches upfront.
- Help raise the bar on PM craft at SmugMug by mentoring on roadmap rigor, release coordination, and sprint planning.
