Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial Java development experience (Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate).
- Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
- Deep knowledge of JVM internals, including memory model, GC tuning, concurrency, and profiling.
- Proficiency with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, offset management, error handling).
- Strong PostgreSQL skills including relational modelling and query optimization.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle), version control (Git), and project management (JIRA, Confluence).
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and LLMs for productivity.
- Ability to write effective design documents and work with non-technical stakeholders.
- English language proficiency at B2+ level.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance microservices in Java / Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka.
- Manage the data layer including schema design, query optimisation, and migrations in PostgreSQL.
- Operate within a containerised cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
- Maintain code quality standards through reviews, testing, and CI/CD discipline.
- Mentor team members and advocate for continuous improvement.
- Manage end-to-end feature delivery from requirements to production.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align on technical solutions.
- Write technical documentation including System Design docs, RFCs, and ADRs.
- Proactively identify and address technical debt.
