Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including as Chief Engineer, Architect, or Distinguished Engineer.
- Demonstrated success providing technical direction for organizations of 50+ engineers across multiple programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including verification and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience establishing and executing AI strategy and driving organizational AI adoption.
- Proven experience mentoring and developing senior engineers, architects, and technical leads.
- Expertise in balancing technical risk, capability, reliability, and schedule realism.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders and leadership.
- Experience with CI/CD maturity, platform standardization, and software reuse.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for flight software, GNC, onboard autonomy, edge compute, and ground systems.
- Drive convergence toward a coherent, reusable software architecture across all programs.
- Resolve the hardest cross-cutting software problems and remove technical roadblocks.
- Lead deep software technical reviews, anomaly investigations, and readiness reviews.
- Chair software technical decision boards, architecture reviews, and cross-program trade studies.
- Establish software technical direction, vision, and roadmap in alignment with leadership.
- Mentor software leads and architects to raise technical rigor and develop future leaders.
