Job Details

Minimum 2 years of regulated mortgage underwriting experience across Australian residential and commercial mortgages.
Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, lending principles, and Australian mortgage underwriting processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance and documentation standards.
Proven ability to independently manage multiple loan applications while meeting SLAs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members on credit-related matters.

Evaluate residential and commercial mortgage applications by assessing borrowers' creditworthiness and financial position.
Analyse financial statements, credit reports, supporting documentation, and other relevant information to determine lending risk.
Make informed and timely credit decisions based on thorough analysis and established lending guidelines.
Prepare comprehensive credit assessments and present lending recommendations for approval or decline.
Manage a high-volume pipeline while ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times are consistently achieved.
Maintain regular communication with introducing brokers to ensure all required documentation and information are received promptly.
Ensure all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and Australian lending standards.
