Requirements
- PhD in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience or BS/MS with 7+ years of experience.
- Proven experience creating, deploying, and managing supervised learning models in production systems.
- Ability to operationalize and evaluate models for real-world use.
- Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals including test-driven development, code review, and refactoring.
- Fluency in the core tech stack: Python, NumPy, Polars, Scikit-learn, and LightGBM.
- Experience with ML tooling such as DVC, Kubernetes, Airflow, MLFlow, BentoML, and Chalk.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience working independently on complex workstreams.
- Ability to travel approximately 4+ times per year for in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Implement the data science roadmap for collections, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
- Set the standard for rigor and production quality for internal data scientists, consultants, and contractors.
- Develop end-to-end models that anticipate customer responses to various outreach strategies.
- Shape and optimize the outreach approaches Mission Lane uses for its customers.
- Build and maintain durable internal modeling practices to reduce dependency on external consultants.
