Requirements
- Practical field experience within industrial or operational environments.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in automation and robotics programming.
- Proficiency with operating systems including Linux and Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Experience across systems integration, software/hardware testing, commissioning, and deployment.
- Understanding of networking technologies including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular connectivity.
- Experience with field testing protocols, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Knowledge of sensor configuration, device maintenance, and connected-device troubleshooting.
- Exposure to computer vision, AI/ML, and data management/transformation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant degree, technical qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- Familiarity with the energy industry, particularly oil and gas, is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into clear technology requirements and design solutions for defined operational outcomes.
- Support vendor technology evaluations and assess emerging IoT, automation, robotics, and connected technologies.
- Contribute to solution architecture design ensuring alignment with infrastructure, security, and project standards.
- Develop, integrate, deploy, and test end-to-end solutions involving IIoT, sensors, telemetry, robotics, and embedded systems.
- Execute field testing, proof-of-concept deployments, FAT, and SAT processes.
- Design and implement quality assurance and automation testing, documenting validation and test results.
- Validate end-to-end data pipelines from field devices through to cloud-based platforms.
- Install and maintain software in Linux, ROS, and embedded environments.
- Provide remote technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for operational field installations.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations for operational reporting.
