Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience across both backend and frontend.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Hands-on experience with Java and a relational database such as PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience building production UI with React and TypeScript.
- Production experience designing and operating microservices-based, distributed systems.
- Experience using an AI coding tool to accelerate development.
- Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative code review.
- Comfort working from the command line in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small technical team.
- Professional working proficiency in English, spoken and written.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from backend service design through the user interface.
- Build and maintain backend services in Java 21 / Spring Boot 3.
- Develop user-facing features using React/Next.js (TypeScript).
- Design and evolve relational data models in PostgreSQL.
- Build event-driven features using Kafka.
- Monitor and operate services on AWS.
- Use AI coding tools to accelerate and validate development.
- Write automated tests and conduct code reviews.
- Mentor other engineers and help set technical standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into shipped features.
