Requirements
- Post-secondary education in an Insurance program or related program.
- 2+ years of experience in trucking, claims or safety and compliance (preferred).
- Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to stay calm in crisis situations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and adjudicate complex claims, including those in litigation, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.
- Prepare detailed file summaries for internal reporting, large loss assessments, and reinsurance purposes.
- Adjust physical damage claims, including unreported damage claims, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters, claimants, and third-party representatives.
- Maintain files for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers compensation claims.
- Select, direct, and manage vendor relationships including towing companies, body shops, and storage yards.
- Order police reports, set up new claim files, and confirm losses to insurers and brokers.
- Maintain availability on-call for nights and weekends for serious accidents.
