Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years in an Engineering Manager role, including managing other managers or team leads.
- Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or high-reliability domains.
- Strong understanding of backend systems.
- Hands-on experience in Ruby.
- Experience operating systems on AWS (EC2, networking, security, monitoring).
- Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with observability tools (metrics, logging, alerting) and performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple cross-functional engineering teams (40–60+ engineers).
- Own delivery, quality, and technical outcomes across the engineering area.
- Partner with Product, Trading, and Senior Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into technical execution.
- Drive engineering strategy, cross-team alignment, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate architectural decisions and implementation across teams.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production systems.
- Hire, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and engineering teams.
- Identify and address systemic technical and organizational risks.
