Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, or bookkeeping.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online).
  • Proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (xlookups, pivot tables, and formulas).
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Acute attention to detail and high standard of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Government Contracting (GovCon) ERP systems (e.g., Unanet or Deltek) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Contracting Accounting Standards (CAS, FAR, DCAA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support project managers with project setup, tracking, and onboarding workflows.
  • Monitor project profitability and reconcile tracking sheets with accounting data.
  • Analyze financial variances between actual and budgeted results and assist with cash flow modeling.
  • Process accounts payable and handle employee expense approvals.
  • Assist with client invoicing and monitor aged receivables for payment.
  • Execute state business registrations and maintain compliance trackers.
  • Assist with DCAA compliance and prepare documentation for year-end audits.
