Requirements
- 10+ years of 401(k) plan administration experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, preferably supporting automation, RPA, or software development.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong working knowledge of retirement plan types (401(k), 403(b), defined benefit) and ERISA requirements.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis and workflow mapping methodologies (e.g., BPMN).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of data structures, APIs, or SQL (preferred).
- Experience with Pension PRO, ASC, DGEM, or recordkeeping platforms (preferred).
- Relevant certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, CSM, PSM, QKA, QPA, or CEBS (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize requirements for automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Translate complex retirement industry business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for developers to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Map current-state and future-state workflows to identify automation opportunities.
- Apply knowledge of retirement plan recordkeeping and ERISA requirements to identify risks and inefficiencies.
- Create and maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, and requirements traceability matrices.
- Facilitate communication between technical and operational teams.
- Monitor deployed automations and identify opportunities for enhancement.
