Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of controls estimation experience (8-10 years preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or trade school equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering.
- Experience designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting controls systems using platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or Square D.
- Proficiency drafting electrical designs using AutoCAD.
- Experience coordinating with project managers on assigned projects.
- Experience coordinating with vendors or third-party suppliers on pricing or project support.
- Experience guiding electrical installers or other project support personnel.
- Knowledge of industrial controls networks such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to customer sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide estimation for controls scope working with the Controls group.
- Create electrical controls schematics including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, push-button station layouts, and safety circuits.
- Visit customer sites to gather information and support project kickoffs or pre-sales reviews.
- Communicate regularly with project managers and controls leadership.
- Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing.
- Participate in the development and management of department processes, including CAD library functionality and design methods.
- Maintain knowledge of electrical and safety standards for control panel design and machine wiring.
